Nike and LeBron James have worked on copious amounts of amazing footwear together, but there’s no question that one of the most iconic pieces that the two parties have ever dropped is the LeBron 8 “South Beach” — a makeup that’s set to be delivered in retro form for the first time ever this year.
The flashy makeup is a significant part of the four-time champion’s sneaker lineage as it was first launched prior to the 2010-2011 season when he dipped to the Miami Heat to form one of the greatest on-court trios in NBA history with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.
Approximately 11 years later, the iteration is being reincarnated with all of its original design cues. The base layer — which alternates between premium leather and synthetic fabrics — is anchored by a “Filament Green” hue and contrasted with solid black notes that drop onto the throat overlays, glossy Swooshes and interior lining.
To stress its Vice City-inspired theme, the Swoosh splashes hits of “Pink Flash” onto the laces, eyelets and lion eyes that rest on the tongues. Midsole molds are manufactured in black, while the full-length Air unit is tinted with a faint teal.
No release date has been announced just yet, but expect SNKRS and other retailers to drop these in the coming weeks for $200 USD.
