For Hattiesburg’s own $IXFOE, music isn’t just an art form—it’s survival, expression, and healing. To him, music is therapy. It’s not simply about creating tracks; it’s about coping with life, speaking when words fall short, and reaching those who feel unseen.
“In a world full of fake, I’m real,” $IXFOE says. “I’m authentic. I’m vulnerable. I don’t do music because I love it—this is who I am. This is my therapy.”
That raw authenticity fuels his artistry. With guiding principles like “Loyalty over love. Death before dishonor.” deeply ingrained in his journey, $IXFOE channels his experiences into songs that reflect the daily struggles and triumphs of young Black men everywhere. His goal is to give hope to listeners who have faced the same challenges he’s endured.
“What I express in my music is your daily life as a young Black boy,” he explains. “But to hear someone put your story into music—it makes you feel like you’re not alone. If I went through this and made something out of myself, maybe you can too.”
His current single “G.R.WG” has already gained traction, reaching over 50,000 plays, following his performance on The Debut. But he’s just getting started. This month, $IXFOE is set to release a new single titled “Greenly Street Baby,”further showcasing his powerful mix of grit, vulnerability, and authenticity.
With an unwavering commitment to staying real, $IXFOE is carving out a space in music where pain transforms into art, and struggle becomes inspiration.
