Houston’s own Peigh Jones, an acclaimed guitarist and producer, took the stage at NRG Stadium for one of the biggest events of the year—Bun B’s Birthday Bonanza at the Houston Rodeo. The sold-out event, marking Bun B’s fourth year at NRG, saw an electrifying crowd of over 75,000 attendees, making it one of the most talked-about nights in the city.
This year’s lineup was nothing short of legendary, with performances from Bun B, Jagged Edge, Do or Die, Tommy Richman, Coco Jones, Yolanda Adams, Don Tolliver, Keith Sweat, T.I., and Ludacris, alongside Peigh Jones delivering his signature sound on guitar.
A Journey of Gratitude and Growth
Peigh Jones’ journey to this stage has been filled with dedication and key moments that shaped his path. In 2023, Music Director Anthony Nicholson brought him in as a guitar tech, opening the door for what would become a game-changing opportunity. Reflecting on this, Peigh shared, “Big shoutout to Anthony Nicholson—he brought me in, and that was the start of something amazing. I’m beyond grateful for that moment because it led to so many more opportunities.”
A Moment of Reflection and Dedication
Fresh off his performance, Peigh Jones took a moment to express his gratitude:
Q: What does it mean to you to perform at such a massive event like Bun B’s Birthday Bonanza at NRG Stadium?
Peigh Jones: “Man, it’s truly a blessing. To be on stage in front of 75,000 people, alongside legends, and in my own city—it’s surreal. I don’t take moments like this for granted. I’m just grateful to be here and to be able to share my gift with so many people.”
Q: Is there anyone special you’d like to dedicate this performance to?
Peigh Jones: “Absolutely. I want to dedicate this to my cousin, Nick Jones, who passed in 2023. He always believed in me and my journey, and I know he’s here with me in spirit. Also, much love and respect to Corey Stoot for giving me this opportunity. Without him, this moment wouldn’t be possible.”
Beyond the Stage: A Producer on the Rise
Peigh Jones has been keeping busy outside of live performances as well. He recently served as co-producer on Yung Bleu’s track “Adore Me,” from the new album What Makes Us Human, which skyrocketed to #3 on the Apple Music charts. His ability to seamlessly blend his guitar expertise with modern production has made him one of the most sought-after musicians in the industry today.
What’s Next?
Beyond music, there’s more to celebrate. Corey Stoot, the visionary behind this incredible night, is also launching a new liquor brand called FreeMan Spirit. With so much momentum building in both music and business, the Houston scene is thriving like never before.
Peigh Jones continues to prove why he’s a force in the industry, whether it’s through his powerful performances, his production work, or his relentless dedication to his craft. As he looks ahead to what’s next, one thing is clear—this is only the beginning.
