From choir stands to festival stages and from Carnegie Hall to the world of Hip-Hop, Paapa-Berchie has always known that music was more than a passion—it was a calling. Born and raised in Crofton, Maryland, the rising artist blends Hip-Hop, R&B, and Afro-Fusion into a sound that’s as soulful as it is purposeful. His artistry is rooted in more than rhythm; it’s a response to a higher purpose.

“I started making music because I feel like I am answering God’s call on my life to share my art with the world,” Paapa-Berchie explains. That conviction traces back to his childhood. At just four years old, he was immersed in music—singing in choirs, performing solos, and even playing in bands. But it wasn’t until college in 2016 that he began to feel a deeper push from the Holy Spirit to take his music further.

At first, he resisted, concerned about judgment and outside opinions. But by January 2019, the calling became too strong to ignore. With faith and determination, he fully embraced his musical journey, and over the last six years, Paapa-Berchie has built a career that’s as impressive as it is inspiring.

From Choir Stages to Major Platforms

Before breaking into the industry, Paapa-Berchie had already performed on some of the most iconic stages in America. He sang at Carnegie Hall—twice, took the stage as a soloist at music festivals in Myrtle Beach and Orlando, and made his mark in national competitions. Once he stepped into the music industry, his performances reached even broader audiences.

In 2019, he opened for Kirko Bangz in Atlanta and performed at the Be Loud! Festival in Chapel Hill, NC. The years following saw him showcase his talent across the DMV and North Carolina, including a memorable performance at UNC’s music department graduation during the height of the pandemic.

By 2022, Paapa-Berchie was featured in American University’s Out of Our Shells project, a highlight that earned coverage in the Washington Post and solidified his presence in the DMV music scene. Now, his career comes full circle as he prepares for his first headlining concert at Maryland Live Arts Studio in Annapolis, MD on November 22, 2025—a milestone moment in his journey.

Accolades and Accomplishments

Paapa-Berchie’s dedication has not gone unnoticed. His accomplishments stretch across music, media, and cultural recognition:

  • 2015 – Published in the Capital Gazette and Baltimore Sun

  • 2019 – Featured in The Daily Tar Heel for his music

  • 2020 – Returned to The Daily Tar Heel as the focus of a solo headline story

  • 2021 – Spotlighted on the UNC Global website for his music and graduation achievements

  • 2022 – His work was archived in American University’s music library as part of the Out of Our Shells project

  • 2023 – Secured a placement for his hit song “Glow” on the Madden 24 online mode soundtrack

These achievements reflect not just talent, but an artist dedicated to purpose-driven work and cultural impact.

A Message to the Fans

Through every performance, release, and milestone, Paapa-Berchie has stayed grounded in gratitude. His message to fans is as authentic as his music:

“To every person who has streamed my music or shared it, from the bottom of my heart I just want to say thank you. You have strengthened and defined my purpose, and I thank you for elevating me. Be sure to keep watching and streaming Mindless Talk out NOW on all platforms, and lookout for tickets to drop for my concert November 22nd!!”

As his journey continues, one thing is certain—Paapa-Berchie isn’t just creating music, he’s creating a movement. With his faith at the core and his artistry ever evolving, the Maryland native is proving that when you answer the call, the world can’t help but listen.
