Chicago is a city known for its extensive contribution to the rap community, from artists like Kanye West to Lil Durk; Chi Town has been on fire! Recently we learned of a new artist who is making major noise and she just came out! Her name is Mahley Astronaut and she hails from Chicago.
Growing up in a God centered home, Mahley learned a lot about herself and her love for music at an early age. According to Mahley “my family went to church every single Sunday, even as a little girl I felt like the pastor was preaching to me.”
At the age of seven Mahley’s life took a turn for the worse. She struggled in school with making friends and it effected her greatly at such a young age. At the age of ten years old Mahley experienced something that she could’ve never predicted, her father passed away and sadly her brother also passed away later in 2014. After her father’s death Mahley Astronaut got closer to her music and even singing in the church choir.
According to her, “music helped me from thinking about the bad things that were happening in my life.” While still young Mahley was already battling with learning her purpose in life. However, music never left her side. In 2018 Mahley’s life changed for the better, she found a way to express her feelings while showing her talents to the world.
According to Mahley, “it all started one day when I played a beat just trying something out.” She would go on to record this song in the studio and from there history was made. Mahley claims that “writing music became my best friend, I love the way beats sound in my ears; my heart feels the soul of whoever created it.”
Currently Mahley Astronaut is promoting her singles “Freak” and “Weird Hoes”. Both songs feature a hard hitting beat with sexy yet tough sounding vocals, she is hard!
