Up-and-coming hip-hop/r&b artist by the name of Nochildhood, dives into his music career and shares how he became the musician he is today. The name comes from having no childhood growing up with his mom being a single parent. He shared that growing up in this environment with no father figure caused him to get into a lot of trouble leading him to go to jail for a period of time. It wasn’t until one day when he looked up in his cell he came up with the name Nochildhood and never looked back.
Currently living in Maryland, his mom and twin brother moved from Syracuse to have a better life. He describes his sound as painful but also motivational. He started making music around the age of 10 but it wasn’t until he was locked up that he began to take his music career more seriously. He wanted to find himself and soon figured out that music was his way out. With the pain he was going through, he had no one to talk to so the only way he could express himself was through his music.
Always wanting to play football growing up, his mom was unable to provide the necessary means so he resorted to other troubling ways to get the money himself. Finding himself back in a cell, he started rapping with more purpose and wanted to talk about different things in his music. He looks up to artist like Tootsie, Kur, and Tupac who have inspired him musically. He also is inspired and motivated by his mother who raised him.
She never gave up on him and their family, always trying to be the best she could be for them. He hopes to one day be a legend in the music industry and make a positive impact on the youth of today. He wants younger kids to know their dreams can come true if they have faith and keep pushing no matter how hard it may get.
His drive to be successful is what separates him from other artists. He wants people to know they should keep an eye on him because he is going to be something big. He hopes to keep grinding and making music for himself and his listeners.
