Nipsey Hussle’s voice returns on “LA Theme Song,” a newly released soundtrack cut built around a verse that had been sitting in the vault since the Victory Lap era.

Nipsey Hussle is featured on “LA Theme Song,” a one-minute record released September 15 through Hollywood Records for FX’s The Drop: A Snowfall Saga. The song serves as the third release from the series soundtrack and brings a previously unheard Nipsey verse into the show’s 1990s Los Angeles setting.

The verse was originally recorded for Nipsey’s 2018 Victory Lap track “Dedication,” according to an FX behind-the-scenes feature on the song. That section was ultimately removed when Kendrick Lamar joined the final version of “Dedication,” leaving the material available to be repurposed years later.

The soundtrack is overseen by executive music producer Larrance “Rance 1500” Dopson, a longtime Nipsey collaborator, with Jason “Problem” Martin, Jason Taylor and Joshua Schuback also credited on “LA Theme Song.” Martin has said Nipsey’s brother Blacc Sam approved using the late rapper’s material after being approached about connecting it to the new FX series.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga uses music as a central part of its story, following Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons into early-1990s Los Angeles as West Coast rap begins to expand its cultural reach. The FX drama continues the world of Snowfall, with Gail Bean and Isaiah John reprising their roles alongside Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith and Simmie “Buddy” Sims III.

The release also extends a busy period for Nipsey’s posthumous catalog. Earlier in 2026, “Reckless” arrived ahead of the PROLIFIC project with Bino Rideaux, while “LA Theme Song” now adds another vault recording tied directly to a Los Angeles-centered project.
