Introduced in 1979 by Marion Frank Rudy, Nike (NYSE:NKE -1.10%) “Air” has played a crucial role in shaping the footwear industry — both technologically and culturally. Operating at the crux of the Air Max line that first hit the market in ‘87, countless silhouettes have leaned on this very concept since. Most recently, the Swoosh looked to the Air Max line to introduce a new look for Air Max Day — the Air Max Pulse. Now, it continues this continuous expansion effort with the introduction of the Air Max Solo.
While no statements regarding the new silhouette have been shared, its detailed imagery showcases many of its features. Connecting with the trends of today, a mixed material build sees a mesh base joined by plush overlays at the toe and heel. Sizable reflective Swooshes appear at each side while a mesh tongue and ribbed heel round out the upper. Its sole unit is segmented with a visible Air unit while the outsole carries a standard rubber tread. This particular colorway balances pastel hues beneath the upper’s mesh, at the ribbed heel and a portion of the midsole while soft mint green hues occupy a majority of the shoe elsewhere.
As of now, little information regarding the debut of the Nike Air Max Solo has been disclosed. It has surfaced in a variety of men’s and women’s-based colorways and is expected to release in the coming months via Nike and select retailers.
