Meet artist Natalie Reign, a songstress from Toronto, showcasing her diversity early on with the release of her latest single, “Lose Your Mind.” The song is a direct juxtaposition to her debut single “Royal” which showed her range as an R&B/ soul artist, but with her latest release, she’s stepping into a new realm of versatility.
Natalie Reign’s latest link with rapper TVGUCCI proves she can do almost anything musically. Her tenacity as an artist displays her range and capability.
The song features an upbeat vibe that makes it a party anthem, creating a carefree energy that makes you want to dance and “Lose Your Mind” as you lose yourself in the music and the electric beat. The song is about letting “go of your inhibitions and feeling the confidence to express yourself and move your body in whatever way feels best to you.” The song also features an insane verse from TVGUCCI as he drops bars about losing yourself in the music, as Natalie Reign and TVGUCCI deliver a top contender for the best ending song of the summer.
She credits her childhood for her diverse talent of blending and mixing sounds into her music, as she remembers “hearing music constantly playing in our car rides with the family and was introduced to ’80s dance mix playlists, ABBA, Boney M, and other musical legends.”
“Overall I believe that my upbringing has shaped my perspective on life, my open-mindedness, has encouraged me to explore different sounds, and has given me a great appreciation for artistry as a whole,” Natalie Reign said.
Being exposed to varying genres and sounds, especially coming from her Russian heritage, has influenced Natalie in who she is today and what kind of music she makes as an artist. “Russian culture has played a role in [her] introduction to music,” as Russian-style parties she says always involved “live music, dancing, and a lot of food.”
This diversity has allowed Natalie to be influenced by a wide range of musical talents and cultures, making her the artist she is currently. Influenced by such icons as Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, and Teyana Taylor, Natalie has begun to carve her lane into the music industry, turning heads and ultimately starting her reign.
