Joshua’s journey into music began in high school, where he rapped for fun with his friends. However, it wasn’t until he started reading the Bible and following Jesus in early 2024 that he felt a calling to use his talents for a greater purpose. “I believe God called me to make Christian rap to help spread the gospel to all nations,” he says with conviction.
What sets Joshua apart from many other rappers is his unwavering commitment to his faith and his refusal to promote negativity in his music. “I don’t rap about drugs, alcohol, women, money, murder, cars, etc. That type of music is polluting the minds of the younger generation,” he states. “I speak life, love, and hope in my music.”
Joshua is prolific, releasing a new song every two weeks. He plans to drop an album in the future, but his goals extend far beyond just making music. “I want to help people deepen their relationship with God and ultimately make it to heaven,” he says. “I want to see people’s lives transformed for the better through faith in Jesus.”
His upcoming release was inspired by the evil he sees in the world. “The only way to combat that is by confronting evil with good and standing firm on the word of God,” he explains. “Ultimately, giving your life to Christ and allowing Him to help you with whatever struggles you are battling.” This song will be different from his previous work, both in terms of the unique beat and the feature from his brother HolyKatchy.
To aspiring musicians, Joshua offers this advice: “Pray and talk with God about it. Ask Him for advice and guidance to figure out your own lane.” He’s so passionate about his faith that he even offers to do Bible studies with those who are interested in learning more.
