About Me
I’m Hebrew Jay, a Detroit-based artist who makes gospel music. I just released my new EP Brew World and it’s available on all platforms. I want to show that there’s nothing wrong living for ABBA YAH. My music is for anyone who wants to feel uplifted and inspired. The experience went a little something like this: I was with my brother, Nomameservant, listening to beats in our hotel room and freestyling, when he told me to get on the mic – and that’s how it all started, I started rapping in 2020. My rap career began because I always had a passion for music – not to be a rapper.
Why do you make your type of music?
I make music because it’s what I’m passionate about. It’s a way for me to express myself and share my faith with others. I believe that music can change lives, and I want to use my gifts to spread the gospel and make a difference in the world. My vocals are my favorite part of making music. There are few things more fulfilling than singing from your heart. The best part is when people tell me how much they love my voice, or how much the lyrics really mean to them. To know that you’re touching someone else with your words is such an amazing feeling! As a follower of Christ, I didn’t want to listen to those songs about killing, shooting, robbing and it was hard, because even though the songs are evil and wicked, it was still very difficult for me to keep hearing them.
