It is an honor to speak with you today.
Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story and How did you get to where you are today?
I had many ups and downs throughout my life, and it was not easy, but I managed to overcome the challenges. Since a young child, I was always a creator. I just did not know how to use my gifts as a career. Being a star seemed to be too much of a dream, so I started to wrap my mind around the promised occupations. My brother and cousin always talked about the military since we were kids, and the military was the only career I found fitting to my craziness. The only thing I knew I had to sacrifice was taking orders from somebody else besides my parents. It’s seemed worth it because I will have the ability to go to school and many other benefits. Failing was once my fear, and It could not affect me any longer. In the process of getting ready for the military, my brother ended up making music and pushing himself as an artist. Me watching him do what I always wanted to do without any guidance inspired me. I told myself that if I got out, I would finally have the money I need to invest in myself and follow my dream. Which once seemed far from my reality.
Before the military, I worked in a bar; I lied to the boss and said I was 21 because they did not ask for any paperwork. When getting out of the military, I decided to go back to bartending to get around the right people. Being a bartender also helped me with my investment within my model career and artistry. People used to ask me why I was bartending, knowing I am a veteran. I told them to “trust the process I got this!” Shorty, I started getting booking being around people who I felt I was like me even people admired as an artist and what they do in the industry. I had to do some free work for a bigger benefit and smaller work I got paid for. I kept working on myself to present who Giaa Da Alpha was. Every time I come out, I make sure I represent my artist self. I love to dress up, and people love my appearance.
Networking and knowing the difference between good networking and bad networking helped me grow. Being in the right place at the right time and not extending my appearance too long helped me grow. Also, being the wow to shake the room and having respect from people in the industry I’m in brought me here. Giving people a reason to believe in me and not giving up on myself so others will not give up or catch on. Also, just surrounding myself with positive and driven people was the blessing to a part and mixed in.
I am sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
The challenge I had to face with this Industry was wasting time with the wrong people. Budging to have more worth in everything I invest in because having the money without gain at first was not easy. That is why I needed to have another job to be my prime to help all the investments. The challenge being a women and men looking at you like a dinner on a plate. I had to learn how to speak to men so I do not come off as rude. I had to be prepared to lose opportunities for my respect and what I was not comfortable doing. Being a woman in this Industry must seem easy, but many men I encountered Ignored having paying for a service received. Although, they always want for you to show love, but when it came for the return and what they can offer to table it seems to be too farfetched. Yet, they like to down play strippers, I had to stop over extending myself for people who would not do the same for me.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in, and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I am a versatile artist; there is no guessing what my next record may turn out to be. What makes me stand out compared to my competition is my energy; it is unmatched. I am a positive soul, and I’m always growing with everything I do in my life. I am doing it for my family, me and to help others the best way I can because I hate to see people in their biggest downfall. I know what it feels like and it is not sweet. I am what’s lit and partially emotional with the pain of my life’s ups and downs. Everyone needs someone they can relate to and catch a vibe with, and Da Alpha is here for all the antics.
What is your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
My biggest advice is to connect with yourself and know what you are willing and not willing to deal with. Success isn’t easy, there will always ups and downs, but you cannot let break it break you; you may always find a solution. Different levels come with other problems that need solutions. Remember you wanted it, and you can decide your destiny. If there’s too many, no’s learn to listen the signs the universe is trying to guide you towards. Everything you seek is not your true purpose. You must carry yourself and surround yourself with positive people. Surround yourself with like-minded people and people who see themselves just as successful as you want yourself to be. Nothing is impossible as it may seem especially, if it’s your destiny. Always be the light for the darkness in the world do not let lost souls affect you and your journey.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
When it comes to success, I feel like it’s an opinionated thought for every single person. Being successful to me is being able to help the people around me that I love. Being able to show my love for them, creating greater experiences and memories with them. If they have no stability, I would like to be at a point in my life where I can offer them a way to gain revenue, instead of some stranger. Even strangers who cross my path, whether it is taking a scarf off my neck to keep warm or a cup of coffee. Gaining wealth but also giving back to Mother Earth. Success is to be happy and not letting money control my emotions or situations.
What’s next for you?
My next move is to be on the biggest radio stations in NYC and many other states. Also, getting biggest on biggest shows for the rest of this year and the upcoming year. I will just shoot my video for Splurge, the audio is out now and on every platform. I also will soon be working on my website for my upcoming clothing brand LXXIV.
