Dee Ross, a Shreveport, Louisiana native, is rapping his way out to convey his emotions and is becoming one of the best artists from the area. He began winning local rapping contests for money at a young age and is now based in Houston, Texas. In 2015 he released his first single ”city on my back” that gained the city’s attention and motivated him to keep rapping.
In 2019, he released his debut EP, “ForeverReal,” on all online streaming services. Dee Ross released another EP, “ForeverReal 2,” in that year. In 2020, he released another EP, “Forever Dangerous,” which included another track, “I Wonder Why,” which received radio play and reached the top of the charts at the time. On Spotify, the EP received 50,000 streams. Fans of his music swarmed to the website, giving several comments and suggestions! He also released his next EP called “Forever Dangerous 2” in previous month and very time, he dazzles his audience.
He was raised on Webster Street in the Allendale area. Allendale was a slum that was impoverished and surrounded by crime. All of this provided Dee Ross with musical inspiration. He began penning poetry on his experiences, which appeared to linger with him. He gained greater motivation and confidence in informing the public about his stories as he performed more.
Music was always his passion, but in his teenage years he was always side tracked from the stuff that was going on around him. Everybody he grew up with started going to jail, a couple got murdered. He started off recording songs in a friend’s closet in Shreveport. He never went to a professional studio until he came to Houston. That’s when he started doing songs with major record labels like “rap a lot” artists. Throughout his whole life he has always been the laid back person that doesn’t talk much but loves talking to a microphone.
He still has notebooks from 7 or 8 years ago which are full of so many songs which he wrote that he hasn’t used yet. Now that technology has changed so much since then, he just uses his phone to write songs. His plan is to make the “ForeverReal” brand one of the biggest in the industry from music to fashion.
