Malvo: Building a Sound That’s His Own

Malvo’s journey into music started in 2020. Like many, he was running through rap caviar playlists and the sounds of artists like 21 Savage and Lil Baby. But eventually, he hit a wall. “I just wanted to hear something new,” he recalls. That search led him to discover Autumn!, a rapper who became a turning point for him. “It was like a holy grail for sound.”

The discovery sparked something deeper—if the sound he wanted didn’t exist in the mainstream, why not make it himself? By 2021, Malvo was in the studio experimenting, and after a short break, he came back this year with sharper focus and bigger ambition.

Finding His Sound

Like any artist, the early stages were filled with trial and error. “Biggest challenge for me was finding my sound,” he admits. “In the beginning months, I was really experimental and just trying any type of beat.” But that exploration was necessary. Now, he’s settled into a style that balances passion, versatility, and an unshakable belief in putting God first.

Early Wins and Growing Momentum

Though he only officially started dropping music in February, Malvo is already making waves. His first EP has passed 3,194 total streams and earned him 2.8K monthly listeners on Spotify. His collaborations speak volumes too, with features from underground talents like Maajins and luhpray, plus production from respected names like 19thou and rexv2.

And the momentum isn’t slowing down. A new track featuring Maajins is on the way, further expanding Malvo’s reach in the underground rap scene.

Eyes on the Future

Malvo’s vision for the future is clear. “I see myself touching the charts in a few years,” he says. His dream? To land a record deal and keep scaling up his artistry. But more than the accolades, his goal with every release is simple: reach new ears, connect with listeners, and keep building.

For Malvo, growth is the story. Influences like Autumn! and Jaydes have shaped his creative path, and even meeting Autumn in 2021 left a lasting impression. But while inspiration is important, he’s determined to carve out his own lane.

“I’ve got a story that blends passion and persistence,” he says. And with every track, Malvo is proving that story is only just beginning.
