A fresh one-to-watch for 2025, Made.Allayne (pronounced Made-a-lane) is LA’s latest hip-hop innovator. He’s the youngest of three siblings born to Jamaican parents and uses the cultural richness of a life spent across the globe as fuel for a creative passion. Spending time building his influences in the US and the UK, Made’s completely self-taught artistry is, at its core, inspired by noughties rap icons Jay-Z, Kanye West and Pharrell.
Made.Allayne brings genre-bending sonics, laced with tales of ambition, faith, relationships and coming-of-age. A diverse backbone is met with a drive for perfection, as a self-fulfilling artist, proud of his independence, keeps his art and business self-made, standing out from the crowd through dedication and talent.
One of the highlights of his discography is his recent release, Energy For Me, which reincarnates the energy of classic rappers in their prime. Harvesting sonic beauty out of a trying situation, the single starts with a soulful rhythm before cutting waves with an alluring slice of hip-hop-enthused percussion.
Speaking about the track, he dives in, “Energy for me was written on the back end of an ugly break-up. A lot of words were said and it really drained me of myself – I was so focused on what I gave to the other person and how they perceived me. In our last conversation, she really just unloaded everything on me and there was this clarity that came over my lens of the situation and my life as a whole. That’s when I decided not to respond or give a damn about her or anybody else going forward. It hit me like an epiphany: Keeping all this energy for me. I only want to spend my time and energy on the people and experiences that appreciate and recharge me.”
