Macklemore has announced a new “Free Palestine Tour,” beginning with three European arena dates after his removal from the remaining U.S. dates of Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour.
Macklemore revealed the new concert series on September 24, with opening dates scheduled for Dublin’s 3Arena on October 26, Paris’ Accor Arena on October 29 and London’s OVO Arena Wembley on October 30. Additional cities, including U.S. dates, are expected to be announced later.
Organizers say the shows will bring Macklemore together with artists and friends who have publicly supported Palestinians, though the guest lineup has not yet been announced. According to the official tour announcement, proceeds will benefit a group of humanitarian, medical, community and advocacy organizations supporting Palestinians.
The announcement comes after Macklemore was removed from the remaining U.S. dates of Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour earlier in September. Messina Touring Group, the tour promoter, said multiple venues had informed organizers they would not allow shows featuring Macklemore to take place after his onstage pro-Palestinian remarks at MetLife Stadium, creating the possibility that dates could be canceled.
The dispute quickly expanded beyond Macklemore and Sheeran. Some Jewish advocacy groups and venue figures criticized Macklemore’s presentation and rhetoric as offensive or antisemitic, while Macklemore has maintained that his advocacy is directed at Israeli government policy and Palestinian rights rather than Jewish people. Sheeran later said the decision to remove Macklemore came from the promoter and venues, not from him personally, while also describing the humanitarian situation in Gaza as catastrophic and unjustifiable.
The controversy also led several other support acts, including Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga, to withdraw from Sheeran’s tour. Macklemore subsequently pledged $1 million in tour earnings to Palestinian relief organizations, while Sheeran and Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft also announced charitable donations connected to the humanitarian crisis.
The “Free Palestine Tour” will now move forward as Macklemore’s own headlining series, with the first three European dates set for late October. Fans are being directed to Macklemore’s official channels for ticket access, guest announcements and additional dates as the tour continues to take shape.
