Newly surfaced police bodycam footage captures the tense hospital moments when Lul Timm was placed in custody following the 2020 shooting that killed King Von.

Bodycam footage of Lul Timm after the King Von shooting has surfaced online nearly six years after the fatal Atlanta confrontation. The video, shared this week, shows Timothy “Lul Timm” Leeks in a hospital bed at Grady Memorial Hospital as an officer approaches and places him in handcuffs.

According to reporting on the newly released footage, the officer tells Leeks, “I don’t know what’s all going on, but apparently you are in custody.” The bodycam then follows the officer outside the room, where investigators discuss the developing case and the news that King Von had been pronounced dead.

The footage dates back to Nov. 6, 2020, when a confrontation involving King Von, Quando Rondo and their respective groups erupted outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in downtown Atlanta. The altercation escalated into gunfire, leaving multiple people shot and three people dead, including King Von, whose real name was Dayvon Bennett.

Leeks was also wounded during the incident and received treatment at Grady Memorial Hospital before authorities took him into custody. He was subsequently charged with felony murder in connection with Von’s death, turning the shooting and its surveillance footage into one of the most closely followed criminal cases in hip-hop at the time.

The case ultimately did not go to trial. In August 2023, Lul Timm’s attorney Noah Pines confirmed that the felony murder case had been dismissed before Leeks was ever indicted, ending the prosecution nearly three years after the shooting.

The newly surfaced bodycam does not change the outcome of that case, but it provides a previously unseen look at the immediate aftermath inside the hospital. Its release brings renewed attention to the hours following King Von’s death and to the moment police formally detained Leeks while he was still receiving medical care.
