Out of nowhere, Drake has shared a new official remix to MC Kevin o Chris’s single “Ela É do Tipo”, The cut was teased a few weeks ago when Kevin shared a snippet of Drake’s inclusion but finally, we can hear the complete thing.
Drake starts off the track with a short verse that focuses on his love for a woman who is involved with another man. “First time I saw you, I wasn’t thinking of you and I/I was just thinking of I,” he sings. “So now we end up in this place we both hate/And I think it takes a sacrifice/Now face, it’s not right, it’s impractical/For you to leave that man and come and just be mine.” Drake then accents Chris’ Portuguese chorus with melodies in his native tongue.
The remix commemorates Drake’s first time visiting Brazil. The rapper headlined the Rock in Rio Festival in September where he blessed fans with a monumental performance despite the rain.
It’s one of the first new offerings from Drake this year — back in August, he dropped Care Package, a collection of B-sides and rarities from across his career. Yesterday, he teased something new called “More Life Growth Co.”
