Lil Wayne Tha Carter V goes platinum.
Less than two months after its release, Lil Wayne’s latest album is eligible for platinum status after moving one million units. While the RIAA has yet to officially certify the project, Wayne celebrated the news on Instagram.
“THANK YOU !!” a grateful Weezy told his 10 million followers.
C5, which spawned the Swizz Beatz-produced hit “Uproar,” debuted at No. 1 with 480,000 equivalent album units following its release in September and scored the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album.
Weezy, who recently performed on “SNL” and at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, has since released a trio of bonus tracks off Tha Carter V including collaborations with Post Malone and Gucci Mane.
He can also be heard “Amen” off the newly-released Creed II: The Album.
