Lil Wayne Tha Carter V First Week Sale Are in

After a 6-year wait, Lil Wayne finally released his long-awaited Tha Carter V album last week. With sales ending a few days ago, the final numbers have officially been revealed by Billboard, as Weezy’s CV album moved 480,000 equivalent album units in week one.

The project debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, scoring the second-biggest streaming week for an album ever – with 433 million on-demand audio streams logged in for songs in seven days.

According to data released from Nielsen Music, the project sold 141,000 in traditional album sales, 325,000 in streaming units and 14,000 through track units. This becomes his fourth ever no. 1 album, which the previous three were Tha Carter IV, I Am Not a Human Being and Tha Carter III.

Only Drake’s Scorpion album has generated this much streaming for an album under this new era, which we could see CV holding the no. 1 album for another week or so.
