Kurrent Q Is Making An Impact In Hip-Hop

He was born premature but healthy on February 2nd, 1986 to Elizabeth Eva Wise and Ian Sinnette in Trinidad and Tobago. From his mother, he got a chance to grow up with a variety of music like Soca, Dancehall, and Calypso.  When younger, he vividly remembers big cookouts and parties thrown in his backyard. Gregory Issac, a raggae artist, was the sound that will forever be linked to those precious memories. This is where his passion for music began to spark.

Gospel and go-go music weren’t introduced into his life until the early 1990’s when his family started to come to the United States, one by one. By that time, he was 6 years old. First touching down in New York City, and then moving to Maryland not too long after that.

His mother was a strong force in his life. She was strong, had a clever sense of humour and kept God first in her life. She did her very best to raise her children and made sure to let them know she loved them dearly. He also grew up with his two older brothers, who were strong male figures in his life, as well as his stepfather. When he was a preteen, his mother was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
Not too long afterwards, his mother passed away a week after his 15th birthday on February 9th 2001.

He then lived with his brothers for the rest of his teenage years; soaking up their business mentality and drive for excellence. During his late teens and and through his twenties, he worked tirelessly in the cable industry. He had two beautiful children during this time; a girl and a boy. In his 30’s, he was able to make enough money through wise investments, giving him more time to work on what he was passionate about; making music.

In the midst of his music making waves, he had his last child, a boy. Going harder than before, he’s determined to break through and give a new, unique style to the rap game. In his song Dead Bodies, he shows his versatility by effortlessly switching from his New York style flow to showing his Caribbean roots and rapping in patois. From showing passion for his family in his Warriors track, to dropping his latest song, POE, he’s an artist you want to keep your eyes and ears on the look out for. He’s  the diamond in the rough you’ve been looking for. Instagram @kurrentq
