King Yanz, born Yannik Kiswamu, is a Finnish-Congolese rapper whose music reflects the many places that have shaped him. Raised between Finland and the UK, King Yanz carries the perspective of a third culture kid, mixing the values he grew up around in the North with UK rap. His Congolese heritage sits in the background of his identity, giving his music its own character. The result is a sound that’s honest, close-up, and open to the many places he comes from.
Splitting his time between Barcelona, London and Helsinki, his approach to music is rooted in authenticity.
