Jessica Caputo: From Clinical Assistant to Aspiring Filmmaker

Jessica Joan Caputo was born on July 8th, 1981, on Long Island, New York. Her journey into the world of film and storytelling is defined by passion, perseverance, and bold decisions. Growing up on Long Island, her love for the arts was sparked by the 1982 musical Annie, igniting a lifelong fascination with film and theater. However, life initially took her in a different direction, and for over two decades, Jessica worked as a clinical assistant. Although her career was fulfilling in many ways, she eventually realized it wasn’t where her true passion lay.

At the age of 42, Jessica made a courageous decision that changed the course of her life. She left her long-standing career to pursue her true calling—filmmaking. Now a full-time film student, Jessica is finally bringing to life the creative ideas she had always dreamed of. The career shift was not easy, but Jessica stands by her decision, confident that following her passion for filmmaking is something she will never regret.

Jessica’s transition into the film industry has already led to exciting opportunities. She has worked on two short films and is currently involved in two feature films. One of these projects, One Mic, holds special significance for her. Written and directed by Corley White, the film has given Jessica the chance to work alongside renowned talents like Fredro Starr and rapper Blueface. Corley White has also become a pivotal mentor in Jessica’s career, helping her hone her craft and navigate the competitive world of filmmaking.

In addition to her film work, Jessica is launching her own podcast, the Spark Your Story Podcast. The podcast serves as a platform for open conversations, offering real talk on various aspects of life and storytelling—an extension of her passion for sharing meaningful narratives.
