BLACKPINK star JENNIE is putting a ballet-inspired spin on one of adidas’ most recognizable sneakers for her first footwear project tied directly to her name.
BLACKPINK’s JENNIE is preparing to launch the JENNIE x adidas Superstar Square Ballet, a dramatic reworking of the classic shell-toe silhouette. According to Sneaker News, the collaboration is expected to arrive in Korea on September 1.
The new design keeps the Superstar’s familiar foundation while changing its proportions and construction. The signature shell toe has been flattened into a squared-off profile, while traditional laces are replaced by an elastic strap across the midfoot and a small bow near the forefoot that reinforces the ballet influence.
Two contrasting colorways have surfaced, with one built around an off-white base and black Three Stripes while the other reverses the palette with a predominantly black finish. Inside the shoe, a stitched label pairs the adidas Originals Trefoil with JENNIE’s personal branding, giving the collaboration a more understated signature than a large exterior logo treatment.
The Superstar Square Ballet also fits into adidas Originals’ broader push toward ballet-flat and low-profile footwear, but JENNIE’s version gives the long-running Superstar a particularly sharp makeover. Rather than relying on a new color scheme alone, the collaboration changes the toe shape, closure and overall feel of the sneaker.
JENNIE’s connection with adidas stretches back years through BLACKPINK campaigns and her own appearances for the brand. Earlier in 2026, adidas Originals featured her in its Superstar campaign alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Kendall Jenner, Lamine Yamal, Baby Keem, Olivia Dean, James Harden and Tyshawn Jones.
The upcoming release extends that relationship into a sneaker carrying JENNIE’s own creative identity. With its black-and-white palette, square shell toe and ballet-inspired details, the Superstar Square Ballet positions one of adidas’ best-known designs inside the continuing sneakerina trend while giving JENNIE a distinct first footwear collaboration.
