J. Cole's 2020 Dreamville Festival Canceled: See Why

J. Cole‘s 2020 Dreamville Festival has been canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Organizers of the second annual festival announced the sad news in a statement, explaining that their audience’s safety is their number one priority:

“After much deliberation and careful monitoring of the current situation, we have decided to cancel Dreamville Festival 2020. Although we originally hoped it would be possible to bring you the festival this August, the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic has made this timeline no longer possible. This decision has been extremely difficult to make, but the safety of our fans, artists, and staff is always our top priority, and nothing will ever take precedence over your well-being.”

The festival was first scheduled to take place on April 4 at the Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, but was later postponed to August 29. Although the supposed lineup was never shared, festival-goers expected a number of big names similar to its inaugural event in 2019, which featured the likes of Cole himself, SZA, Big Sean, 21 Savage, 6LACK, Nelly, Teyana Taylor, Rapsody, Mez and the entire Dreamville Records roster that included Bas, Cozz, Ari Lennox, J.I.D, Lute, Omen, and EarthGang.
