J. Cole Says He’s Done Doing Features

After all he went platinum with no features.

The first new Gang Starr song in 16 years (“Family and Loyalty“) was released today featuring a verse from J. Cole However, Cole has now taken to Twitter to reveal that it will be his last ever feature.

“This is the last feature you’ll hear from me,” the “Down Bad” rapper said. “Thank you to everybody I got to work with during this run.” We’re not sure how serious he is about this statement, but this doesn’t rule out anyone featuring on his own songs in the future.

Check out the tweet below.

This a honor to be on this song. NEW Gang Starr 🤯🤯🤯🤯 💎💎💎💎

Ever since J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive received platinum certification from the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) in October 2016, fans have touted the infamous phrase “platinum with no features” in various pockets of the internet.

The North Carolina rapper’s third and fourth studio albums — including 2016’s 4 Your Eyez Only, eventually certified Platinum as well — saw him handling much of the work himself, even taking on much of the production.
