Izzadeen Malik El-Amin: The New Arab & Middle East Champion

Rising boxing star Izzadeen Malik El-Amin delivered a statement victory in Cairo, Egypt, claiming the Arab & Middle East Welterweight Championship with a dominant second-round knockout over Tanzania’s Ernest Kapinga. Scheduled for 10 rounds, the bout barely made it past the opening bell before El-Amin’s power took control—dropping Kapinga twice in the second round, prompting the referee to wave it off.

Now boasting a flawless professional record of 9-0 with 8 knockouts, El-Amin captured his first pro title in emphatic fashion, signaling the arrival of a new force in the welterweight division. “This is the first of many, God willing,” said the fighter. “I knew I would get here. Like I said in all my interviews—anyone who spoke to me since I was 13 knew I had my mind set. People didn’t take me seriously back then. They thought I was joking.”

El-Amin’s journey has been anything but easy. A high school dropout and raised without a father, he first opened up about his past in a 2022 interview with Luton News. In his own words: “I didn’t have a father growing up and didn’t do well at school, but I wasn’t going to become a statistic. I wanted to prove I could be different, to do something great in boxing—and something greater than that.”

That drive and determination continue to fuel El-Amin, who remains undeterred by critics. “I’ve been doubted and criticized since turning pro,” he said. “People are small-minded—they just talk. If you’re fake like these clowns and influencers, you’ll be loved and supported. Fake is the new real, and real isn’t respected. But I’m not here to please anyone—I’m here to win.”

With his eyes set firmly on the future, El-Amin plans to stay active. He’s targeting a return to the ring in July, continuing his push toward international recognition. Currently ranked #24 in the UK and #265 in the world at welterweight, Izzadeen Malik El-Amin has one message for the boxing world:

“We are coming.”
