Iggy is gearing up to kick 2019 off on the right note. The rapper announced that she’s now signed a multi-year partnership deal with EMPIRE Records where she’ll be keeping her movement entirely independent.

“I’m so excited to begin a new entrepreneurial chapter in my career with EMPIRE as my partner,” she said in a press release. “The ability to have control of my own artistic future is a long-awaited and monumental change in my life. I genuinely feel I am in the best position to achieve my creative ambitions.”

EMPIRE will be overseeing “the release and promotion” of new music from Azalea which includes her follow-up to 2014’s The New Classic.

“The ability to have control of my own artistic future is a long-awaited and monumental change in my life. I genuinely feel I am in the best position to achieve my creative ambitions,” EMPIRE CEO Ghazi Shami said.

Iggy announced her deal last week but didn’t share too much information on the deal. However, she did say that she’s 100% independent and that the deal was worth $2.7M.
