With the first month of 2023 officially over, Harlem native Hendrick Douglass has been on a roll dropping new singles every week and ending January strong with his final release of the month Penance.
Since the release of HD Three back in November it seems HD has been on the road of self-discovery & keeping us in the loop for what seems like every step of the way. Penance definitely sounds like a record of self reflection in which Hendrick gives us an update on his status within the industry & his neighborhood, boasts his lyrical prowess, begins to recognize his mortality & purpose in life all while giving us heavy Drake vibes which is more aligned with his beginnings as an artist being incredibly influences by the Toronto golden child.
Hendrick has also been releasing a slew of anime music videos for each release exclusively on Instagram while getting more involved within his city bringing multiple unsigned artists & producers together from across New York for a special project he has in store for Summer 2023.
