Gunna Launches His ‘Splurge’ Rollout With New Single ‘Pop It’

Published on October 09, 2026

Gunna’s latest solo release introduces his forthcoming album, Splurge, following a run of high-profile collaborations.

Gunna has released “Pop It,” bringing the first single from his upcoming Splurge album to streaming platforms on October 9. The track puts the Atlanta rapper back at the center of his own release campaign after recent appearances alongside Shaboozey and Rich The Kid.

Splurge is the next project Gunna has been discussing as he looks beyond 2025’s The Last Wun. Speaking with Forbes’ The Enterprise Zone in September, he described the album as an introduction to a new level of his artistry, while making clear that he would release it when he felt ready.

That next step follows a substantial previous album: The Last Wun arrived in August 2025 with 25 tracks. Its guest list included Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Offset and Nechie, bringing a range of collaborators into the project before Gunna returned to a solo billing for “Pop It.”

He has continued releasing collaborations in the meantime, including “High Noon” with Shaboozey and “Too Bad” with Rich The Kid. Earlier this year, Chris Brown also joined him for the “WGFT” remix, extending the life of a song originally recorded with Burna Boy.

There is a notable detail in the new single’s release credits: Gunna Music, LLC holds the 2026 phonographic copyright, with the release identified simply as a Gunna Music release. The Last Wun, by comparison, carried a Gunna Music copyright exclusively licensed to Young Stoner Life/300 Entertainment.

Gunna has yet to announce a firm release date for Splurge, leaving “Pop It” as the first full look at the album campaign. Listen to the new single on Spotify or Apple Music.
