Gr1mmz, who you can find on Instagram at @gr1mmz_, is an artist coming out of Silver Spring, Maryland. His journey into music began toward the end of high school in 2017, but his first official release did not drop until late 2022. Since then, he has been chasing his sound with a fearless and open approach. Never one to box himself in, he experiments across genres but is currently sharpening his rap and pop style. On top of creating, he also plays trombone, showing that his relationship with music stretches beyond just vocals and production.
The artists that shaped his sound the most are Xxxtentacion, Juice WRLD, and Lil Peep. Their raw emotion and ability to channel life’s chaos into music inspire him to do the same. His music reflects his own journey, full of ups and downs, but always with the mindset that the only thing that can stop him is himself. Gr1mmz has already released a handful of tracks, each with its own vibe, as he continues searching for what feels most authentic. The process has taught him that he does not need to be confined to any single genre.
One of his most memorable moments so far has been simply recording with friends, zoning out from life’s problems, and finding comfort in creating music together. Those moments remind him why he started and why he refuses to quit.
But not every experience has been positive. Gr1mmz recently shared how he was scammed out of money by someone posing as a promoter. “The scammer, who went by the name Souljasiah and later by @paininthyself, promised him a performance opportunity supposedly hosted by Slump Audio. After paying for what he thought was a legitimate spot, he quickly realized there was no performance at all. Instead, the scammer had been using the money to cover personal legal fees. Frustrated after weeks of being strung along, Gr1mmz blasted the scammer publicly, calling him out on social media until his accounts were eventually deactivated.” Though it was a setback, he turned the experience into motivation and even humor, showing his resilience in the face of setbacks. These are all the scammer’s and Gr1mmz claims.
Even with situations like that, Gr1mmz is still pushing forward. He has been recording demos and exploring different sounds while gearing up for a new release expected early next month. Every step, whether it is smooth or rough, adds fuel to his fire.

He is focused on refining his craft, dropping more music, and proving that no obstacle, not even scammers or setbacks, can slow him down. Fans can expect more releases that reflect his growth, creativity, and refusal to be put in a box.
