What’s your artist name?
My artist name is Mar Raccx that’s my stage name. People that actually know me personally call me Mar for short. Don’t get me wrong I love my name but I feel funny when people call me by my whole government.
Where are you from?
I was born in Brooklyn, New York the city of big dreams and even bigger egos. I moved to Philly when I was about 8 or 9 because my mom moved out there. I was always back and forth but I moved back out to Brooklyn because the lifestyle in Philly is completely different. The way people dress and even talk is nothing alike. I love Philly though and the Cheesesteaks are on point.
Why do you love music?
I love music because it’s the only thing that I truly enjoy doing. I have a real talent for it as well and I feel like without music I don’t know who I would be or what I would be. Like I wouldn’t have a purpose.
What makes you different as a music artist?
What separates me from other artist is my I don’t give a f*** attitude. I’m not afraid to put my emotions into my music and allow my fans to see me in a vulnerable stage. I feel like my growth has to be shown throughout my music so I am conscious about what I put out as well.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I have to be making an honest living doing what I love and showing other artist that they can do the same. I want to be able to change my families future, not just mine. I see myself doing what I love and being very successful.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
I want to accomplish financial freedom and find a balance between business and personal relationships. I don’t want to be one of those people who blow through their checks and they have nothing to show for. Cars and clothes and jewelry are not going anywhere. Don’t get me wrong if you work hard you deserve to spend hard earned money. I just feel like once you find that balance between business and personal relationships you would realize what’s more important.
What do you bring to the music world?
I bring timeless music to the music world. Once the right audience hears my music they will never forget me and what I stood for. It doesn’t bother me to show people that vulnerable side of me. It only bothers me that some people try to take advantage of you knowing that.
What do you want to be remembered by?
I want to be remembered for my authentic personality and music. I want people to remember me for my growth and how far I came. I want to be remembered for not giving up and chasing my dreams.
