Villain The Kidd is truly a one of a kind, and not just in a musical sense. The Colton, California native has put more than a decade’s worth of work into his upcoming album, and that’s the tip of the iceberg. A man who calls himself a voice for the brokenhearted, his sonic influences include Bad Omens, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Falling in Reverse and From Ashes to New.
Villain The Kidd also credits his late father as another inspiration; he was a fan of Villain’s incredible Nu metal style that incorporates his deep, meaningful lyrics with his real life experiences.
A prime example is the single “FADING AW4Y” which deals with Villain The Kidd’s battle with internal demons.
“This song embodies the chaos I put myself in through and through every day,” Villain The Kidd said. “It’s a battle I face within myself and all the trials and chains that I must break that hold me down to fulfilling my higher calling in what I must do to destroy the strongholds in my life when I’m reminded constantly that I’ll never be good enough.”
“No one seems to understand the war I have within my head daily,” he added.
Other lyrical topics Villain The Kidd covers in his upcoming project include relationship problems, betrayal and fighting the battle to remain true to himself.
“It’s okay to fall in the dark, it’s okay to feel what you’re feeling, but don’t stay in that dark place,” he said. “I’m honestly excited and I can’t wait for the world to hear my work.”
Villain The Kidd has lots in store for the near and far future. His upcoming solo project OUROBOROS, which signifies the unity of all things material and spiritual, is 15 years in the making and touches on everything he’s been through.
This is not your typical artist; Villain The Kidd makes music that requires the listener to think and tap in with their feelings. If he keeps up what he’s doing, anything he dreams of can be his.
