Robin Kadir is a Swedish artist, DJ and producer who is rapidly gaining industry recognition for his thunderous live shows, crisp production choices and multi-dimensional creativity.
Discovering DJing during his time at Hyper Island University, Kadir soon realized it was something he wanted to pursue professionally. After making a name for himself playing local shows he landed his first big gig playing two nights at Boston Calling back in 2018.
An object in motion stays in motion, or at least Kadir did during the next few years of his career. Taking off around Sweden as a touring DJ and playing several more festivals (such as Lollapalooza and Way Out West) lead to him securing a slot as a resident DJ at Spy Bar, Stockholm’s most exclusive nightclub.
Kadir has always had an ear for production as well. He released his debut single Corazón back in 2019 and was met with a million streams his first year out. Dropping Baila as a follow-up in 2020 to similar success, it wasn’t until his 2021 single Sanka that Kadir really managed to break into the summer smash scene, racking up several million streams and selling gold in Sweden after just a few months.
The plans Kadir had for expanding his career into the production field became increasingly solid after seeing these results. He’s now working on his debut album – slated for a 2022 release – with collaborators from all over the world delivering verses in English, Swedish and even Kurdish.
Now that restrictions are opening up globally, Kadir is looking to get back on the road. As much as he loves production, DJing will always be his first passion – there’s nothing to Kadir like the thrill of rocking a live crowd, and we’re excited to watch him do just that.
