James Daniels aka “Freshmoney Media” is creative on the rise. In 2010, he was in a local Baltimore rap group that ultimately changed his life, as he Learned how to shoot and edit videos. Teaching himself all of the basics to videography throughout the years, he finally started to take it seriously when he and a long time childhood friend David Allen aka “Croc” created the company 4300 Vizions.
This business endeavor began their journey not media as they met William “Ivory” Hawthorne in 2019 who was looking for a videography crew to grow with his 1924 family. As a result Freshmoney Media and Croc decided not to sign 4300 Vizions under contract but instead signed Freshmoney Media as a single entity to 1924 Music Group. He is now the head of videography and artist content creator for 1924, while he and Croc continue building 4300 Vizions.
Getting his footing with 1924 Music Group Music, Freshmoney created a platform called “Mic Check After Dark” that showcases and highlights Baltimore’s underground Hip Hop scene. Each artist is video recorded with their guest(s) of choice, in 1 setting, with 1 mic, as they spit some original bars. Freshmoney then cuts and edits the footage from different angles, showing the talent in unique angles and then uploads the footage to his Youtube channel.
After finding success with the “Mic Check After Dark” series, he decided to start expanding his vision beyond Maryland. Hitting the Atlanta and Los Angeles music scene, he had the pleasure of working with Eearz, who is signed to Mike Will Made It and pop sensation Jack Hess. Tapping back in with Baltimore, he eventually opened his platform up to rising rapper Wave Runner Lays and Lor Sosa, who is a part of his 1924 Music Group family. As mentioned previously Freshmoney is the head videographer for 1924, and shoots all of the exclusive content for Tso Tadoe, Yung Inkky, and Qui Qui Martin, while assisting a plethora of DMV artists.
Freshmoney Media is currently working with label mate Rah Sampson on a docu series titled “thegrindseries” that will come out later this year. As he continues to work hard, hone in on his craft and shift the culture, he is on his way to becoming one of the biggest videographers in the DMV area.
