Civil unrest continues to blanket the nation and the Bronx is the latest site of violent altercations between discontented citizens and the police, however, this exchange saw the officer on the receiving end.
The video of an NYPD officer getting jumped by a number of men began circulating on social media Monday night.
The footage picks up when the officer was already taken to the ground. Another man comes into the frame charging at the subdued officer with a large object and bashes him with it.
After a few more hits the officer regained his balance and the men scattered. Luckily for the officer’s assailants, he did not open fire.
