Devean George Urges Lakers to Give Bronny James a Real Chance to Prove Himself

Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Devean George believes the organization needs to stop protecting Bronny James and give him a genuine opportunity to prove what he can do in the NBA. Speaking to TMZ Sports, George said the Lakers should demonstrate how highly they value Bronny by giving him meaningful minutes rather than limiting him to carefully selected situations. He believes playing more regularly would provide a clearer picture of Bronny’s development and potential.

George also said Bronny would benefit from creating more distance between his career and his father’s, explaining, “I think he needs to space away from his dad.” He encouraged the 21-year-old to remain in Los Angeles, establish his own identity and show what he can contribute independently.

The three-time NBA champion suggested that Bronny has been “babied” by only being used in favorable circumstances.
