Rising NY Rap artist Count Yonkers started toying with rap and putting pen to the paper in 1997 while in College. The Yonkers based artist Started the rap group Suspects. 2 man group which blossomed to 3 then 4. Finally got to about 6 affiliations from Yonkers to the Bronx , NY.
“Music is in my blood from waking up early in the morning hearing my mom and dad play Luther and the old school 80’s R&B classics.” – Count Yonkers
The team began doing shows in queens and all over NY while working out of Warlox studios in Manhattan to Brickhouse in Mount Vernon. The group did a lot of music and a little buzz but the songs were not mixed down and they were not old enough to understand the business of music and how to properly record. Time went by and everyone grew up, some stopped rapping but Count continued going, getting with 730 ent based out of Yonkers and dropped his first mixtape Other Ni$$as Beats vol.1 in 2007 which is still on Datpiff.com right now.
Also was on a DJ OP mixtape. Then dropped ONB part 2 came out in 2009. 12 years later during the COVID lockdown he had the urge and felt it again so he wrote a whole album and came out with “Pat and Walter’s Son” which obviously is based off his mom and dad’s name.
The album came out July 12th which is his mom’s birthday. The album is out on all platforms Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify and still streaming very well. “Pat & Walter’s Son 2” follows up “Pat & Walter’s Son” which dropped last year and is widely hailed as one of the best albums of early 2021. While the project captured Count’s music-making abilities, the new project “Pat & Walter’s Son 2” coming out 1st May finds the NY Rap artist back on his knocking drums, a sound that he is known for, and more confident than ever, Count wants to show his listeners how strong of an artist he really is.
The kind of response his songs have received on digital streaming platforms has been encouraging, further boosting his confidence to be a better artist and work to his maximum potential. His songs have been doing exceedingly well on all digital music streaming platforms like Spotify, furthering his popularity as a music artist to the next level.
