Cardi B Steps Into Johns Hopkins’ Hoptoberfest After a Last-Minute Lineup Change

Published on November 02, 2026

The Baltimore campus concert changed both its date and headliner over Halloween weekend, with existing student tickets carrying over.

Cardi B brought her music to Johns Hopkins University’s Hoptoberfest on November 1 after a late change to the annual concert. Her appearance followed organizers’ announcement that Daniel Caesar, the previously scheduled headliner, was no longer available.

The Johns Hopkins News-Letter reported that HOP and the university’s LEED office notified ticket holders on October 31. The concert moved from Saturday to Sunday at 8 p.m., while retaining the Ralph S. O’Connor Center for Recreation & Well-Being as its venue.

Organizers cited unforeseen circumstances for Caesar’s absence, without providing a more specific public explanation in the announcement. The confirmed change concerned the booking and schedule, not an announced dispute between the artists or the university.

Students who had already obtained admission were allowed to keep their tickets for the replacement concert. The original allocation had sold out, and the student newspaper reported that hundreds of people remained on the waitlist before the rescheduled event.

After the show, Peak Stan reported that footage of Cardi performing “Magnet” circulated on social media. That account places material from Am I the Drama? in the campus set, although a complete verified setlist and final attendance total were not available in the reporting.

The booking also brought Cardi back to Baltimore after an April stop at CFG Bank Arena on her Little Miss Drama Tour. Hoptoberfest put her in a different setting: a university concert whose last-minute adjustment changed the experience for students who had originally secured tickets to see another performer.
