Rising rapper from Roxbury/Dorchester channels nearly seven years of sobriety and street-level truth into his most defining project yet

BOSTON, MA — From the neighborhoods of Roxbury and Dorchester, Boston-bred hip-hop artist EXITFAME is emerging as one of the region’s most compelling voices — not just in music, but in purpose. With his upcoming album Permanent Stains, set to release June 26, 2026, EXITFAME is preparing to deliver his most personal and impactful body of work to date.

The project arrives at a pivotal moment in the artist’s career. A man of faith and a proud father of three, EXITFAME has spent nearly seven years in recovery, transforming some of his most painful and vulnerable life experiences into music that resonates deeply with listeners navigating poverty, addiction, and adversity.

“I paint pictures of the harsh realities we come from while providing hope,” EXITFAME said. “I’ve been honest about my most embarrassing rock bottom moments and used them to inspire others in similar situations I once was in.”

That authenticity has already earned him a loyal following and measurable recognition. Among his career highlights, EXITFAME counts a Boston Music Award win, a sold-out headlining show, and a performance at London’s O2 Arena, where he opened for hip-hop group The Lox. His collaborative record Too Many Times (Remix) featuring Boston rapper Millyz stands as one of his most celebrated singles to date.

Permanent Stains represents a creative evolution for the artist — one shaped not only by his sobriety and spirituality, but by the relentless grind of an independent musician working two jobs while raising a family. EXITFAME has spoken candidly about the financial barriers that challenge independent artists at every level.

“Making music is the easy part,” he said. “It’s the promoting, the marketing, and the constant evolution that’s expensive. The financial hurdles make it very easy for anyone to quit.”

Despite those obstacles, EXITFAME has continued to build momentum, generating a return on investment through live performances and features while cultivating a small but committed circle of supporters and investors he credits as essential to his journey.

Rooted in hip-hop since childhood — he recorded his first studio session at age eight or nine alongside his father, and later performed with rap group Triple Threat — EXITFAME sees the genre as both a calling and a vehicle for change. His long-term vision extends beyond music, encompassing motivational speaking and mentorship for younger artists coming up behind him.

“I see myself doing shows overseas and doing a lot of motivational speaking mixed with rap,” he said. “I also want to be in a position to help younger artists in the future.”

With Permanent Stains on the horizon, EXITFAME is inviting fans, press, and new listeners alike to witness the next chapter of a story still very much being written.

Permanent Stains drops June 26, 2026.
