Big Que XXL The Hard-Hitting Voice Of Albany’s Hip-Hop Underground

From the heart of Queens to the gritty streets of Albany, Big Que XXL has been putting in work for over two decades, steadily carving his lane in the world of hardcore hip-hop. Raised on the lyricism of legends like Nas, Jadakiss, 50 Cent, and today’s heavyweights like Benny The Butcher and Ransom, Big Que XXL carries the torch of street authenticity with pride and power.

Originally known as Billy Bathgate when he first touched the mic, his earliest freestyles were raw, unfiltered expressions of life in New York. But as time passed and his style matured, so did his persona. Rebranding as Big Que XXL, he’s embraced the weight of his experience—literally and figuratively—to become one of Albany’s most respected underground rap voices.

With a résumé that includes collaborations with Fuego Base, El Camino, Arsonal Da Rebel, Che Noir, Dave East, and others, Big Que XXL isn’t just rapping—he’s in the trenches with some of the game’s most credible lyricists. His collective GOGETTAZ dropped “Trenches” featuring Fuego Base a year ago, a track that still hits like a freight train with its unapologetic delivery and vivid storytelling.

Now, the veteran MC is gearing up to release his new single “Run It Up”, set to drop on all major streaming platforms on May 9th. It’s the lead track from his upcoming EP The First Chapter, a project that promises to be both a culmination and a new beginning.

With his daughter, wife, and manager Beast in his corner, Big Que XXL stays grounded and focused. He writes all his own material, develops video concepts with his team, and has his sights set on iconic venues like SOB’s in NYC. While he’s open to a label deal that makes sense, a smart distribution deal could be the real move for this independent force of nature.

His sound is steeped in the grown-man hip-hop ethos—raw bars, real life, and a refusal to compromise. Whether he’s backed by producers like NPro, Smash, or Beat Behemoth, or pulling beats from YouTube, Big Que XXL always brings substance over gimmicks.

In five years? Expect two LPs, an EP, and a national tour. But for now, he’s still in the mud, still grinding, and still hungry.
