My name is Anthony Posadas and I go by the Stage Name of Yantee. I was born December 28th 1996 in Seattle, WA but moved around a lot since my father was in the Navy. I lived in New Orleans for awhile before finally settling into Austin, Tx which is where I now call home. Since I was a kid I’ve always loved listening to music and it has always been my way of getting away from everyday life. When I first started out I actually planned on being a DJ but found that I had a talent after freestyling with friends and at parties.
I started actually writing/making music when I was 19 and working at a warehouse. I hated working there and every 2 hours we would get a 15 min break, I used that time to write what would be my first song and the rest was history once I got good feedback after showing people. I finally built a home studio for myself a year ago and taught myself how to mix and record myself in the process.
I’m currently working on my first Album that I’m going to call Ying N Yang. I chose that name because I want it to be about the dark coming into the light. I plan to have it transition from being rap heavy into my more melodic sound I’ve been working on. My favorite artist of all time is definitely Kid Cudi and after that it would probably have to be Drake. I’ve always loved Kid Cudi’s hums/Melodie’s and how Drake can go back and forth from singing to rapping. Music is my passion and there’s nothing else I’d rather be doing then getting paid to make music.
