Southern Florida has been a hub for hip-hop since the days of 2 Live Crew & Trick Daddy. More recently, artists such as XXXtentacion and Denzel Curry have brought a new light to the region as a rap powerhouse. Combining all of those influences plus their own original flavor is BABYG, south Florida’s newest hip-hop phenomenon.
BABYG was born in California and moved to Florida as a (self described) “jit”. It was here in the south that he formed his style and grew his roots in the music industry. Inspired by legendary artists such as Prince, as well as talented people from within his own family, BABYG began to develop his own sound and sensibilities at a young age. Now older and well established, his music inspires many and is making waves across the country. His latest release “fragile (side a)” is a testament to the artistry that he’s spent years creating.
