Recently there has been a surge of new artists making a huge impact in the rap community. Meet King Dinero, an artist from Chicago who is taking over the industry by storm! While still young, Dinero experienced a lot and it helped shaped the man he is today. According to Dinero, “ my mom was shot in the head while I was in her stomach”. Getting shot is how his mother learned she was pregnant.
Tragically, Dinero’s father was the person who set up his mom to get shot. Dinero’s mother was a known drug dealer who faced jealousy from everyone even her child’s father. Luckily she lived, and King Dinero was born. According to Dinero, “immediately after I was born she left town because she found out she couldn’t trust nobody; she wanted to get away.
King Dinero would end up growing up in Harvey, Illinois, a city rite outside of Chicago. However, Harvey is not your ordinary suburb, it’s known for its gangs, violence and drug epidemic. As a child King Dinero witnessed people being shot, killed and drugs being sold everywhere he could turn. “My mom was a hustler. Even though we was in a messed up situation she did what she could to make sure I was good.”
While Dinero was still young he fell in love with music, he claims that Luther Vandross “Take You Out” is a song that helped inspire him. “I use to sing that man song like crazy. I would even put on a show in the kitchen for my parents and their peers”, Dinero explains. Artists like Juvenile and 50 Cent inspired Dinero to become a rapper. His mother and step father sold drugs while he was still young and this affected Dinero. It wouldn’t be long before Dinero’s parents started calling me Scarface.
During this time King Dinero began gang banging. By 7th grade Dinero was already writing music, smoking and selling weed. While in high school, Dinero began kicking in doors and taking whatever he has a chance to get his hands on. According to Dinero, “This is the point where everything when down hill.” Most of Dinero’s friends were focused on getting girls as a teenage; but Dinero was focused on money. Seeing his family struggle inspired Dinero to run it up, he knew he would be the breadwinner.
Unfortunately Dinero’s actions landed him in prison. It would be here that King Dinero would focus himself totally. After years of being incarcerated Dinero got out and immediately got busy. Currently Dinero is preparing to drop his anticipated single titled “Ima Mood”. Dinero says he does it all for his family! Be looking out for King Dinero, he is destined for greatness.
