From a young age, Jaleel was drawn to the power of sound. “I’ve honestly been into music since I was a kid,” he shares. “I learned to play the strummers and would always write my own remixes to songs, along with some poetry.” This early experimentation laid the foundation for what would become his unique approach to music.
What truly sets Jaleel apart from many artists in the scene is his approach to blending genres. “I’d like to think what makes me different is my angle of attack on things,” he says. “I try to come up with unique flows and ways to combine things. My Jamaican background plays a big part in that, helping me expand my sound.” This fusion of cultural influences and musical genres is a key feature of Jaleel’s style, particularly the combination of dancehall and trap. “I really enjoy the fusion between dancehall and trap music,” he explains. “I feel it’s still an underdeveloped and untapped market, and being part of this more underground style gives my music a unique edge.”
When asked about the most impactful line in his music so far, Jaleel points to a lyric from his track “Cut out the Middle”: “There’s a reason why I grind like this, I want 100k a month so I can fund the jits.” It’s a line that stands out not just for its raw ambition but for its deeper meaning. “I genuinely do have a greater plan in life,” Jaleel reflects. “I want to leave a legacy of making solid, positive impacts for the next generation.”
Looking ahead, Jaleel is poised to make waves in the music industry. His goals are clear: “I plan on achieving a solid foundation in the music industry. I want to inspire people to live their lives to the fullest extent.” Fans can expect new projects in the near future, including exciting collaborations with XMG Smyth and 29Mako. These upcoming releases are sure to showcase his distinctive sound and offer even more of what Jaleel does best – pushing boundaries and carving his own lane in the music world.
