Chad Quentin: New Orleans' Brass Maestro Conquers the World

Born Chadrick Quentin Honore, Chad Quentin is a guitarist, lyricist, composer, and was the youngest member of the Grammy Award-winning Rebirth Brass Band, who he worked with for over 17 years. At the age of twelve, he experienced his professional stage debut in Japan, having begun playing the trumpet and tuba at the age of nine.

In order to advance his instrumentation, Chad Quentin learned every brass instrument by the time he was sixteen years old. Despite having received much of his training from the streets, Chad Quentin has studied under Kid Jordan, Kent Jordan, Marlon Jordan, Clyde Kerr, and Alvin Batiste at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA).

Playing for tips on the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans was Chad Quentin’s source of income. Soon after, he was performing with the best brass bands in New Orleans, including the Stooges, Hot 8, and, for the previous four years, the Rebirth Brass Band. Currently, Chad Quentin has graced stages for audiences around the nation and the world, traveling to all 50 states and nearly every continent. Quentin has worked with notable artists and creatives such as, Jadakiss, Mannie fresh, Fredo Bang, Jennifer Hudson, Dee-1, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, Jessica Simpson, along with many upcoming artists.

Chad Quentin created music for local musicians, commercials, and ESPN by the time he was 18. Quentin has also had the pleasure of being nominated for an Emmy, as a result of scoring for a few movie projects and shows like Treme, NCIS New Orleans, Hurricane Season, Chef. Mission Impossible 6, Girls Trip.

ESPN, and Emmy nominated commercial for WDSU 6. At the age of 27, he had already won his first Grammy Award and is currently still making a name for himself in the hip-hop scene with his distinct sound. Fans of Chad Quentin can anticipate hearing his voice over his unique horn-based songs at last.
