A major goal for many music artists is the opportunity to be signed by a notable record label. Yet, these individuals can regularly spend large amounts of time as independent artists, self-promoting and, many times, self-producing. Rapper Parlay Travy spoke about this phase of his career describing, “I’m an independent artist, but I’d be nice on [a] label, then I could really do business with a team behind me.”
Parlay has built his career from the ground up after beginning music over 10 years ago. He currently works with his network of artists and producers (who produced a few of his most popular songs). The day-to-day life of this rapper is filled with “getting money every day as someone who didn’t decide to take the college route but the musical entrepreneurship route” as Parlay puts it, and he has seen positive success so far.
His social media presence has grown quickly, and he hopes to connect with his fans soon with upcoming music.
