Mike Tyson’s next Netflix appearance puts personal storytelling onstage rather than returning the former heavyweight champion to the ring.
Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike arrives on Netflix on November 3, bringing the boxer’s one-man show to the streaming service. The special appears in Netflix’s October 30 viewing guide as part of the following week’s lineup.
The performance was filmed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to Netflix’s Media Center. The company describes a comedy-driven stage production built around Tyson recounting episodes from his own life.
Netflix’s synopsis specifically identifies addiction, mental health and self-reflection among the subjects Tyson addresses. The platform presents those personal subjects through a comedic format, placing his recollections at the center of the production.
The streaming listing classifies Return of the Mike as stand-up comedy and personal storytelling, with a TV-MA rating. Tyson is the listed performer, and the title page includes a short trailer ahead of the release.
This is separate from TYSON, the four-part documentary series that premiered on Netflix on October 13. Directed by Floyd Russ, that production uses interviews with Tyson and people close to him to examine his life and career, rather than presenting the one-man stage performance.
The two projects approach the same public figure through different formats: one through documentary interviews, the other through Tyson’s own storytelling before an audience. Return of the Mike adds the latter to Netflix’s November schedule, with the November 3 launch confirmed by the platform’s official listings.
