Cardi B is standing firmly behind KATSEYE’s new single “Hootie Frutti,” telling critics that she and members of her family have been enjoying the track despite the mixed reaction online.

Cardi B is showing love to KATSEYE after the group’s latest single, “Hootie Frutti,” sparked a wave of debate online. During an Instagram Live on Monday, August 17, the Bronx rapper sang along to the song while making it clear that the criticism has not changed how she feels about the record.

“Y’all hating on the song. But me, Kulture, and Amor—we love this song,” Cardi said, referring to her daughter Kulture and Kulture’s cousin. She then added, “And Blossom love it.” The moment gave KATSEYE a high-profile endorsement at a time when “Hootie Frutti” has become one of the most talked-about songs from the group’s new era.

The single appears on KATSEYE’s newly released WILD EP, which arrived August 14 and also includes “PINKY UP,” “Animal,” “Bel Air” and “That Way.” “Hootie Frutti” quickly translated that attention into streaming numbers, reaching No. 6 on Spotify’s U.S. Daily Top Songs chart and No. 12 globally shortly after release.

The track pairs heavy percussion and a club-focused groove with KATSEYE’s polished pop performance style. Its official video, directed by Alfred Marroquin, leans into bold choreography and a humid, late-night party atmosphere, giving the single a visual identity as energetic as the production itself.

Cardi’s support is not completely unexpected. She and Kulture attended KATSEYE’s Governors Ball set earlier this year, and Cardi has continued to show interest in the group’s music since then. Her latest comments read less like a casual co-sign and more like a genuine fan response, especially with her family visibly enjoying the record alongside her.

The endorsement also arrives as KATSEYE continues to expand its reach beyond its core fan base. With WILD now out and the group preparing for its WILDWORLD Tour, “Hootie Frutti” is proving that even a polarizing reaction can fuel conversation, streams and momentum when the song connects with listeners willing to embrace its more adventurous sound.
