Jordyn Woods is giving fans a closer look at the craftsmanship behind the three custom Danielle Frankel dresses created for her Malibu wedding to Karl-Anthony Towns.

Jordyn Woods’ wedding dress fitting is now getting the full behind-the-scenes treatment, with Vogue documenting the bride’s final appointment with designer Danielle Frankel in Los Angeles. Woods was joined by her mother, Elizabeth Woods, and younger sister, Jodie Woods, as she tried on the custom looks ahead of her August 15 wedding to Karl-Anthony Towns.

The centerpiece was a strapless silk-wool ball gown with a draped bodice and full skirt, finished with hand-cut Chantilly and corded lace appliqués in different ivory tones. Frankel explained that the placement of the lace was developed directly on Woods’ body during fittings, allowing the embroidery to follow the gown’s draping through the neckline and waist.

Woods said the finished ceremony gown went beyond what she had pictured for herself. “This is better than what I thought my dream wedding dress would be,” she said during the fitting, as her family reacted to the final look. The bride also wore an attached neck wrap and a dramatic veil that completed the Old Hollywood-inspired silhouette.

Vogue’s behind-the-scenes feature also revealed how Woods’ second look evolved almost by accident. Frankel pinned up one side of the layered Chantilly and elderflower lace gown during an earlier fitting, and the spontaneous adjustment ultimately became the asymmetric drape and high slit used in the finished reception dress.

For another wedding-weekend look, Woods tried on a minimalist silk satin slip dress with an asymmetric scarf detail that extended into a shawl-like train. The trio of custom pieces gave her distinct silhouettes for different moments of the celebration while maintaining a consistent focus on draping, texture and hand-finished details.

Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns married at a private home in Malibu after getting engaged on Christmas Eve 2025. With Towns’ basketball schedule leaving a short window to plan the ceremony, Woods said she had roughly six months to secure her wedding wardrobe, making the final Danielle Frankel fittings a major milestone before the couple exchanged vows.
